JPEG is a standard compression technique for storing full color and gray scale images. JPEG compression can greatly reduce image file size, although at high compression ratios, the resulting image may have noiceably degraded image quality.
A GeoJPEG is a geo-referenced JPEG file (.jpg) which has an associated .jgw world file.
